I've loved you from the beginning of time...
20 years from now, they're still happily married. The children are about to finish high school and go off to college, the house is all paid up for. Just put in a down payment for a holiday villa by the beach, with the cars, all shiny parked in the porch. They both have careers, they've both worked hard to get where they are, to be together all these years, thru good times and bad times. They’ve brought up four wonderful children. Each one, special as the other. They both love them very much; they both love the family they've built together. They both love the family they've brought together by marriage. But most of all they both love each other, they both still feel the same way, they felt during their courtship, they still make love as passionate as the day their bodies touched for the very first time. They both still kiss with sparks, and they both still look at each other with twinkles in their eyes, they both know they're looking at their destiny. Bliss flowing thru their veins, every time they realize, they have each other.
As happy as it all is, times were bad once. There were times they screamed at each other. There was a time they both thought they’d never see each other ever again. It’s times like those that lurk in their memories that bring out the best in them, for each other.
One lazy afternoon, as they both get up after a nap together. She rolls into his arms, puts her hands on his wrinkled face, looks at him and says, ‘hello, sexy old man…’ That affect it has on him, her finger rubbing softly on his cheeks, just makes him smile and say, ‘hello, princess….’
They both curl up together, pull the sheets tighter around them. Get so close to each other, they feel as though they are one. She places her cheeks nicely and comfortably into his shoulders. She takes his hands and plays around with their wedding band, solidified into his ring finger and she asks him, ‘why do you love me….’
He, in his magnifying confidence of his unconditional love for her, takes a huge deep breath and says, ‘do you remember the first time we met, 25years ago…?’
She smirks and says, ‘yeah….’
He continues to say,
‘As I watched you talk to me across the table, eating you French fries, sipping your lemon crush, the hot afternoon sun bursting thru the huge glass windows of McDonald’s, making your huge brown eyes glow like God’s direct portals to him. Your rejuvenating smiles, that shames the creation of even a rainbow. Your cheeky laughs, that makes the chirps of the morning birds’ sound blend. I thought to myself God was showing off when he was making you. I went home that night and I said to myself, I love that woman. Then there was a question in me; you’ve only known her for what, 4 months now, and you’ve only met her today, how can you be in love with her?
Later that week, I then asked you out again, we meet up for a movie and coffee. You smelled incredible. Like a million roses put together on a bright spring Sunday. We went for coffee at San Francisco’s. We chatted again, we laughed again and you smiled again. Then at one point, you turned around to counted the number of different types of coffee at the counter. At each pass of a type of different coffee, your eyes moved, watching those pearls of magic twitch and glow as bright brown they are...I pretended to count as well, but was mesmerized by your eyes. You turned around and your fire-brown dark hair flew over you face, you smiled again and said to me, ’24…’
Right then I knew I loved you, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. I knew you were my destiny….’
He then hugs her, and kisses her forehead, taking in a breath of her scent, he starts to tremble as he pull away and says,
‘But after all these years you ask me why do I love you? Because you’re a better person than I am, because you make my life as colorful as it can be, you make me live my life to the fullest it can be lived. You thought me how to smile, you thought how to cry. You showed me joys I never knew existed…simply said, you bring me to life, like a mother to a child. You are my everything…’
She stops playing with his wedding band, grasps to his hand tightly, looks up at him, with tear filled eyes, she says, ‘as you are to me, my everything, cause I love you and loved you I have from the day I knew that such a man existed in my world’
As man and wife, they’re eyes wide shut. Their souls united in love, as god as their holy witness, so it shall be the greatest love they’ll ever have…
