how the King came about...

and so at the sound of the big ben striking 10, Tony Blair and the Labour Party is once again in control of the UK. i think he won because he was the only party that didn't stress too much on the imigration issues in britan. i'll be honest with you, although i have nothing to do with this country despite sucking it dry of its knowledge (what knowledge?!) i thought Blair was the better man to lead it. that guy Michael Howard was spooky, he reminded me of some those...err, okay remember Ian Holm, the guy who played Bilbo Baggins, in Lord of The Rings, yeah, remember him in the scene where he turns dark when he wants to see the ring one more time? remember that scary face, thats what Michael Howard reminded me of. (gulp) i hope he doesn't read my blog and sue me...

now that my exams are all over, i've been freed to persue my silly thoughts further. earlier this evening i had a thought while i was sitting on the crapper, how many of you out there enunciate and pronounce my name correctly?

some call me Rajeshh
some call me Rajisss

ofcourse theres the handful of people who call me Raj and the only one person in the whole world who calls me by my full name, Rajesvaran (thanks Wai Keong). my brother is probably the only person to call me Jes, yeah come to think of it. i think its only the ones who spend the most time with me that says my name out correctly. so from now on remember my name is pronounced R-a-j-e-s. stress on the R infront and ease you tongue thru the Jes. don't pull the S though, don't do that, i hate that. then again now i understand why people just call me Raj.

do you know how i got my name?

well here goes, around 27 years ago, when my parents had my brother, they decided then, one boy was ENOUGH! heaheahea. so, they then wished for a precious little baby girl, and they made a vow, that if they do get a baby girl, they'd name her after the female deity of Bravery, Sri Raja Rajeswary. ofcourse they werent gonna name their baby exactly that, so it was gonna be Rajesvary, they replaced the W with a V cause i have no freking idea why? a year later my parents were once again expecting parents, all happy that they were not gonna have to put up with another boy but much did they know, MUAHAHA MUAHAHAHA... i was on my way out. 10 months later to their much disappointment i arrived. but since they had vowed and didn't wanna go back on their word, they changed the name into Rajesvaran. which btw means, king of bravery. i wonder for a brief moment, did my parents go, 'oh no, not another one!' or like Homer going 'duuhh'.

anyways...

25 years later, still not having a problem with the name. i'm having a problem with people pronouncing my name, say it right, or just call me Mister. i think one of my aunty's pronounces my name to perfection, i can still hear her saying my name, ringing in my ears. my mom on the other hand, never calls me by my name unless she is scolding me, heahehae. its son'na to her always.

ahhh, enough about my name.

you guys heard of this stand up comedian Peter Kay, this guy is hilarious, go get his dvd's and watch him. i'm acutally laughing my guts out watching it right now.

later...

i can't figure out why people always like being called something else rather than the name they were given.it is ok when you shorten your name but not your surname.i think you will understand what/who i meant.hehheheh-navein
